The problem

Private app delivery turns into manual work.

  • App Store review isn't designed for every internal-only app workflow.
  • Enterprise distribution and full MDM add approval, setup, and support overhead — and per-device pricing charges for every device, even ones that only need an app.
  • Apple Business purchases, codes, licences, and Managed Apple ID checks live in separate places.
  • Employees receive scattered links while admins have limited install visibility.

With AppDeploy

Apple Business stays underneath. AppDeploy makes it usable.

  • Employees land on a branded internal apps portal instead of raw distribution mechanics.
  • Admins sync Apps & Books content and manage app-user access in one place.
  • Branded portal, tracking, and day-to-day rollout workflow on top of compliant distribution.
  • One flat Business plan distributes to any number of devices, with no per-device fee for the portal. Silent AutoDeploy management is an optional per-device add-on, with the first five included.

Rollout architecture

Built for controlled app rollout, not a full device-management suite.

AppDeploy combines Apple Business distribution, signed app delivery, a branded user workspace, and focused remote deployment capacity with device actions, OS-update enforcement and compliance evidence. Business includes AutoDeploy for five enrolled Apple devices, with additional capacity available on the same subscription.

Entitlement-led access

App availability managed per organisation and user, not per device.

Apple Business aligned

Apps & Books token sync and Managed Apple ID workflows underneath.

Remote deployment capacity

AutoDeploy is included for the first five enrolled Apple devices on Business.

Rollout audit trail

App assignment, command status, sync, and delivery events stay reviewable.

Capabilities

Publish, guide, and review app access from one place.

Branded distribution portals

Give each organisation a controlled portal at /w/your-slug, with an optional custom domain and automatic TLS, clear install guidance, and branded presentation.

Business delivery routes

Add apps through Apple Business Manager Apps & Books including Custom Apps, Apple redemption-code upload, or enterprise-signed .ipa upload and hosting.

AutoDeploy for Apple devices

Zero-touch Apple Automated Device Enrollment, silent install over Apple MDM and APNs, configuration profiles, guarded device actions, and OS-update enforcement — five devices included with Business.

Release operations

Release Guard artefact preflight, rollout rings that pause themselves on failure, one-click rollback, deterministic Deployment answers per device, and checksummed Evidence Packs.

Open platform

Developer API with scoped keys and a public OpenAPI contract, signed webhooks with retries and replay, a public status page, and the Trust Centre.

Business and Enterprise paths

Start with hosted Business, or move to Enterprise for SAML/OIDC SSO, SCIM, scheduled Joiner / Mover / Leaver sync, Android delivery, invoice billing, and guided onboarding.

How it works

One path from request to release review.

01

Request a workspace

Business requests move through email verification, billing, and activation; Enterprise requests move into review-led onboarding.

02

Configure the brand

Set the organisation slug, display name, logo, accent colour, public-page status, and enabled platforms.

03

Add approved apps

Business supports Apple Business Manager Apps & Books, iOS redemption codes, and enterprise-signed IPA delivery. Android signed APK upload and delivery is available with Enterprise.

04

Share or remotely deploy

Give users one branded portal, or use QR enrolment and AutoDeploy to assign eligible Apple apps to enrolled devices.

05

Track usage

Monitor installs, codes, active users, app inventory, per-device command status, compliance snapshots, and the public service status page.

06

Review operations

Append-only audit logs with CSV export, checksummed Evidence Packs, and member permissions give larger teams a cleaner way to review sensitive release actions.

Delivery

Three ways an app reaches a device.

Getting an app into AppDeploy and getting it onto a phone are two separate decisions. Pick the delivery route that matches how much control you have over the hardware — you can run all three side by side.

1

Self-service portal

Employees open your branded workspace, sign in, and install what they are entitled to. Nothing is installed on the device beyond the apps themselves.

  • Works on personally owned devices
  • No enrolment and no supervision required
  • Role-based entitlement, so people see only their apps
  • Every install recorded in the audit trail
2

AutoDeploy silent install

Assign an app and the device installs it on its own. No prompt, no tap, no App Store visit for the employee.

  • Install triggered over Apple Push Notification service
  • Assign by group, so new joiners receive the set automatically
  • Install state reported back for each device
  • Requires the device to be enrolled
3

Zero-touch enrolment

Devices bought through Apple Business Manager enrol themselves out of the box. The employee unboxes, joins Wi-Fi, and the device arrives configured.

  • Apple Automated Device Enrollment, assigned by serial
  • Setup Assistant panes skipped as you configure them
  • Supervision with management the employee cannot remove
  • Devices appear in your fleet before they are handed out

The branded portal distributes to any number of devices on the flat Business plan, with no per-device fee and no enrolment. AutoDeploy is an optional add-on, and only for the devices where you want installs to happen silently.

Release operations

Ship apps like releases, not like emails.

Assigning an app is the easy part. Knowing it arrived, catching a bad build before it ships, and proving all of it afterwards is what AppDeploy's release layer does.

Release Guard

Every artefact is preflighted before it can reach a device: identity, version, signing validity, OS support, and what changed since the last release. A failed check blocks the push — and a check we cannot perform says "unknown", never "passed".

Rollout rings

Ship to a pilot group first, expand when you choose. Maintenance windows, deadlines, pause and resume — and a failure threshold that pauses the rollout by itself before more devices get a bad build.

Deployment answers

Every device that hasn't converged tells you exactly why — not assigned, blocked release, device offline, retries exhausted — with the evidence behind it and the one action that fixes it.

Risk Forecast

Before a rollout starts: licence shortfalls, incompatible devices, expiring certificates, stale device data — each with the number of devices affected, never a vague warning.

Employee status page

Employees see what is happening with their own apps — installing, installed, update on the way — on your branded page, without ever seeing serial numbers or management internals.

Evidence Packs

One download proving what was released, to whom, and with what outcome — checksummed so an auditor can verify it independently. Included on Business, not an Enterprise upsell.

We replaced three different manual processes with a single AppDeploy workspace. Our IT team now ships updates to 40+ employees faster, and install-related support is much easier to manage.

Built with enterprise security from day one

  • Encrypted in transit (TLS + HSTS) and at rest (AES-256-GCM under a separate key-encryption key).
  • PostgreSQL row-level security forced on every tenant table — isolation is enforced by the database, not only by application code.
  • Role-based access with dedicated per-action device permissions; destructive actions need a reason, typed confirmation, step-up re-authentication and optional two-person approval.
  • Append-only, exportable audit trail; deterministic deployment decisions with no AI in the loop.
  • Hosted in Glasgow, UK with EEA encrypted backups. GDPR DPA, India DPDP and CCPA coverage published; Cyber Essentials in progress; SOC 2 / ISO 27001 on the 2027 roadmap — stated honestly, no badges we do not hold.

ClarityPath case study

An App Store setback became a clearer, controlled route to users.

ClarityPath's public App Store review exposed a familiar problem for specialised products: a useful app can still struggle to explain its distinction inside a crowded category. Rather than reduce the product to another public listing, AppDeploy created a branded route where its purpose, access model, and installation journey can be understood before a user begins.

  • The review challenge made the product-positioning and distribution problem visible early.
  • AppDeploy presents ClarityPath inside an organisation-branded catalogue with clear platform and access context.
  • Direct sharing and QR access give approved teams one consistent route instead of fragmented links and instructions.
